The 48th UAE National Day: Unity, Legacy and Celebration
When it comes to the closing months of the year the United Arab Emirates is somewhat unique amongst commercially-led countries in that its population’s excitement over Black Friday is equalled by its excitement of another, truly special, celebration; UAE National Day. This year we celebrate 48 years since the Emirates united together to form an ideal, a dream and a vision that would become a force to be reckoned with around the world. The occasion of UAE National Day is an immense time of pride within the country, and a time of unity for citizens and the residents who have chosen to call the United Arab Emirates home. The expat population is vast in number and diverse in ethnicity, culture and background, yet they stand with the UAE citizens, bonded in salute to the potential, inclusiveness and opportunity offered by this unique and growing location.
The 48th UAE National Day is not only one of the largest annual celebrations in the country, if not the largest, it is the ultimate reflection of the culture of the UAE and the countries’ commitment to inclusion and connection. The hospitality offered by the nation and the Emirati people is evident within all aspects of society from the residents programme to being invited into homes. The environment they have fostered in the last 48 years really does embody the ‘legacy of our ancestors’ and their vision that together we can achieve so much. This sentiment is one of the reasons why we have such a welcoming culture and hosting, entertaining and hospitality are such a big part of it.
